Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Petogen is a progesterone based long-acting contraceptive. It starts working within 24 hours if injected within five days of beginning a period. If taken later than five days after your period you will need to use condoms or abstinence for the first seven days following the shot.

So, there's a possibility of pregnancy which should be thought of if your next period is delayed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
