Is Pregnancy Possible While On Paragard IUD?

Hello, I am a 32 year old women I have the paragard IUD and I have had it for 6 years. I cannot feel the string never have been able to. I had sex Sep 28 & 29th and my last period ended on the 19th. Today is the 6th of October. I have had dizzy spells, coffee I normally would like, I did not like, I have a heightened smell and hot flashes. I have had lower back pain as of today and sore breasts. Is it possible that I may be pregnant?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I don't think you can be pregnant since paragard IUD is one of the most effective contraception methods and with a very low pregnancy rate. Anyway, you can do a pregnancy home test to check for it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
