Is Pregnancy Possible Dispite Negative Pregnancy Test Results?

I am a 23 year old who had been on Metformin 500 mg for PCOS, my doctor put me on it to help me ovulate to increase my chances of becoming pregnant. ever since I have been on this I have had a regular cycle, every 34 days. I am now going a little over two weeks later on my cycle. I have been feeling nauseous, my breast have been felling very tender and sore, and I have felt more tired than usual. I took a HPT and it was negative. Is there a chance that I could still be pregnant? If not what could cause this?

Hi,
I understand your concern.
* Pregnancy test after 2 weeks of delayed periods, should be positive for pregnancy.False negative tests are rare, though you being a PCOD patient with known possibility of irregular periods with or without ovulation- we have to consider possibility of delayed ovulation.
* A blood pregnancy test for HCG should sort out the thing. If that too is negative, you are not pregnant. The hormonal imbalance in PCOD can cause pregnancy like symptoms.
* Actually you should get your ovulation test done before you plan pregnancy. Treatment for PCOD needs patience. Please continue with the treatment & wait for the ovulatory menstrual cycles.
Thanks..
