Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Oral Contraceptive?

Hi I got my period January 14 for 5-7 day like normal. I had unprotected sex with my boy friend when I was done. He cam inside me. I m on birth control pills and I had miss a few days . On Jan 30 I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. Be on Monday February 1 I had my period again for 5 days it when from light to a little heavier back to light. Can I still be pregnant?

Thanks for your query. I understand your concern.
Oral contraceptives offer protection when the pills are taken regularly at same time every day.Missing pills for few day s raises the possibility of pregnancy.
You have not mentioned exactly when you had missed your pills still, I can think of following possibilities in your case-
- If you had missed few days before 1st Feb.. the bleeding you had may be just a withdrawal bleeding..& probably no chance of pregnancy (As you had the pills when you had sex & few days after words.
- If you missed the begining pills.. possibility of pregnancy is there
- The home pregnancy test you did was too early. actually test after 3 weeks of unprotected sex can be positive,
_ the bleeding on 1st Feb. can be implantation bleeding
* In such a case, you have to go for pregnancy test 8 days after the expected date of menses.
* If the test is +ve you have to terminate the pregnancy ( for pills taken in pregnancy are hazardous for the fetus )
