Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Unwanted-72?

I had unprotected sex on 22nd October 2016. I was a virgin prior to that and I bled after intercourse. Bleeding stopped within half hour or so and there was no pain as well. I took UNWANTED 72 within 8 hours of intercourse. But on 27th October 2016 I bled again. LIght coloured blood it was as if some kind of injury. My period date is on 5th November. I want to know why did i bled today? What should i do now. I had my last period on 5th October 2016 and my expected period date is on 5th November. Please help me.

Hi & Welcome.

Taken within 72 hours following an unprotected sex, the emergency contraceptive pills like Unwanted-72 is 95% effective in preventing an unwanted pregnancy.

Following the use of this pill your period might be different. Most women will have a normal period at the expected time, but some may have their period later or earlier than normal.

As per your history you seem to have some irregular bleeding or spotting within a week after using Unwanted-72 and it is suggestive of withdrawal bleeding due to hormonal changes.

However, if your next period gets delayed by 5 days or more or is unusually light or unusually heavy you should contact your doctor.
