Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Postinor 2 After Intercourse?

Hi, I just recently had a baby, I ve been breastfeeding and haven t gotten my period back, not exclusively tho. I had unprotected sex with my husband and took postinor 2 The next day evening, which was more than 24hours after, Then I had unprotected sex again after 3 days and instead of taking another postinor 2, I just started my everyday pill which I already had. After 3 days, there was very light spotting, which stopped almost immediately. I thought it was my period returning but it wasn t. Now I m scared that I must have been ovulating around the time I had sex, I don t know if it is the everyday pill that made the period stop tho. Should I have taken another postinor 2? And can I still take it as today is the 5th day after unprotected sex? Is it possible that the first postinor could have helped the 2nd time I had sex 3 days after?

Hi,
Thank you for asking. I understand your concern.
You had multiple factors acting for non conception like-
-You had recent delivery &breast feeding.. both of these conditions most of the times offer natural protection from conception (though it should not be relied upon) as hormonal status is not favorable for ovulation.
-Youhad taken postinor 2 after first sex after 24 hours (but within 72 hours )...The emergency contraceptive has high dose of hormones& acts by postponing ovulation or avoiding implantation.....
The hormines inbuilt in Postinor stay in body upto 8 days...&after that it leaves the body..indicated by scanty withdrawal bleeding .
-You started taking daily contraceptive from 3rd or 4th day after the second sex (whenactually postinor hormones were yet to leave your body)
* In this scenario my view is-
-You had unnecessarily taken both the contraceptive pills...(while you were naturally protected) recently delivered &breast feeding. If at all you were to have sex.. only barrier contraceptive (with or without spermicides)would have done
-The physiological hormonal body status plus irregular consumption of hormones has created hormonal jumble up in body & may give you irregular periods till the hormonal status comes back to normal.
*In such case youshould restrainfrom taking hormones on your own. Wait patiently for periods to become normal naturally.
-Use barrier contraceptive with spermicide these days..actually .better to avoid sex these days.
-Consult your doctor if you get profuse bleeding in between.
*Start using suitable contraceptives after getting back rwgular periods with consultation of your treating doctor &follow the advise strictly.
Thanks.
