Hello,

Delayed periods can happen with pregnancy but in some cases not. To make sure which is the cause of it a pregnancy test can be done. If it comes out negative it can be repeated in 3-4 days, if it still comes out negative and her periods are not coming it is a delay that is not related to pregnancy.
On the other hand there is no protection from pregnancy that is 100% effective. This means that even if you use protection, there is still some chance (this is different depending on the protection you use) that she may get pregnant.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
