Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Having Protected Intercourse?

I am a sexually active girl, and I have missed my period for the month of February. My boyfriend and I use a condom every time, and it hasn t broken ever. And he also never finishes. Could I still be pregnant? I took a test, and it came back negative, but I am still worried.

Hello,

Thank you for your query. I understand your concerns.

If you have been using condom every time and if your boyfriend has never ejaculated in you, and if the condom had never split, the chances of your being pregnant is negligible. This is confirmed by the negative pregnancy test.

A woman who has been having regular periods can still miss one or two periods and this is entirely normal. Stress can also cause a woman to have menstrual irregularities. So kindly relax.

As your pregnancy test is negative, you could either wait for your period to come on its own, or see a gynaecologist and use progesterone hormone pills to induce your period.

If you are regularly sexually active, then instead of condoms you could use other methods of contraception which have more success rates than condoms. The options you have are contraceptive pills, depo injection, implant (which is inserted into upper arm) or a coil (inserted into the uterus). You can discuss with your gynaecologist about the best suited contraceptive for you.

I hope this answer has been helpful to you.
