Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Ejaculating Outside Vagina?

My husband and i had sex march 7. He assured me that he ejaculated outside my vagina and after that i rinsed it with tap water. I knew that day that i m ovulating because my last period was february 25 to 28. What are the chances of me getting pregnant? I m breastfeeding my baby by the way but i alredy had my period after 3 months i got pregnant.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello ma'am and welcome.

If he is sure he ejaculated outside, he must have employed the withdrawal method which is the least effective method of contraception with a failure rate of 50%.

But taking into consideration all the events, I still think pregnancy is unlikely with a very low chance of pregnancy, about 10-20%, not more. You could choose to take plan B emergency contraceptive pill if you want, but within the first 72 hours from sexual contact for effectivity.

Best wishes.
