Is Pregnancy Possible At The Age Of 50?

I will be 50 yo in a week and I stopped taking birth control pills a month ago. I am sexually active and have not been using any other form of contraceptions. My OB said its unlikely that I would get pregnant at this age. My breasts have been tender within a week since I got off the pill. Is breast tenderness a normal reaction to getting off the pill? I ve been taking the pill for 20+ years.

Hello,

As age advances possibility of pregnancy diminishes as there is very little oocyte reserve. Chances are very little at the age of 50.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Deepak Sundriyal,
