Majority (nearly 90%) of disc disease symptoms settle by themselves in about 3 months. Those that persist or if the referred pain down the leg (known as radiculopathy) is considered too unbearable can have surgical treatment if MRI showed suitable disc disease for surgery.

Physiotheraphy cannot cure this but can help other back muscle strengthening & correct posture etc to improve overall back pain in the meantime.
