Is Pink Discharge And Faint UPT Sign Of Pregnancy?

Hi! I am a scientist and cant' figure out my results. I am 5 days late for my period, think I had pink spotting implantation bleeding almost 2 weeks ago now, and had a light positive hpt on thursday morning. I travelled that day, and yesterday the line was fainter. I did a blood test at a lab (i'm abroad so not sure how accurate the tests are) and came back hcg of 2. today, i did a clearblue test, and went back to sleep, initially, for first few minutes there was nothing then two hours later there is a clear positive line. Am I pregnant?

Hello, and I hope I can help you today.

Conventional pregnancy tests will give a false positive if the test sits around for a while. Most over-the-counter tests say to discard the test after 5-10 minutes, including Clearblue.

What may have happened to you is a situation called a chemical pregnancy, where you may have conceived but the pregnancy did not implant, and your hormone level went down. Any serum HCG value less than 5 is not pregnant.

So you either did not ever conceive and the test was performed incorrectly, or you had a chemical pregnancy that did not develop into a fetus.

I hope I was able to adequately answer your question today and that this information was helpful.

Best wishes,

Dr. Brown
