Hi. I ve been taking Marvelon birth control for about 9 months breaking after 28 each time. Except I tried not breaking to avoid my period...now on my 3rd month non stop but I ve been bleeding now for a week and have cramps as well. Is this normal? Will it stop? Should I stop the pills?

Bleeding in menstual period may last one week normally. You should continue the birth control pills, please do not stop. You have started cramps during menstruation, for dysmenorrhea you should have an ultrasound scan done to rule out any pathology , it will also find out the cause of extended time of period if any. For cramps now if i have to advice a patient i will suggest tab mefspas three times a day. With orall pills your bleeding will stop if there is no pathology.
