Is Persistent Low Blood Pressure A Matter Of Concern While On Atorvastatin?

Yes, my mother is 67 year old African American that has had multiple strokes. She was just diagnosed with UTI and prescribed Nitrofurantoin capsules. Yesterday, she was lightheaded and lost her balance. Today her blood pressure has been consistently low. 3:30pm 110/55 5:50pm 103/53 She is currently taking the following medications: Aspirin, Atorvastatin, Calcium, Carvedilol, Cinnamon, Citalopram, Multivitamin, Nifedipine, Potassium Chloride, Risperidone, and Vitamin D Her normal blood pressure ranges from 130/85 to 145/90 Should I take her to the hospital. She seems fine, is coherent, speaking well, and eating, but I m concerned about the consistent low pressure.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

That is right, it is on lower side but not too much low and Atorvastatin does not have effect on blood pressure with above medicine. You need some adjustment for which cardiac opinion should be taken.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
