Is Persistent Fever, cough And Low Lung Function Sign Of Lung Cancer?

I have had a persistent low grade fever (99F to 100.3F), and a persistent cough for nearly month. Spirometer tests showed lung function around 51%. Chest xray showed hyperinflated lungs. I am being sent for a CT scan but it could be weeks before I get an appointment. In the meantime I am fearing the worst. I am a 44 year old, generally healthy female who quit smoking 12 years ago. Any idea what could be causing these symptoms? My worst case fear is that I have lung cancer.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if you already have a lung cancer then such symptoms may be likely, and if you are just worry about this, then you need to wait till you get the CT imaging, if are under the treatment then no need to worry, with the right medication everything would be fine soon, take care.
