Is Pentocid Pills Effective For Didpepsia?

Sir from last three months i m suffering with abdominal discomfort and cramps which takes place like pain of stabbing and sensation around the bally aand near the ribs , the doctor has doagnosed me didpepsia and gave me pentocid tablet , i want to know that is this the same problem and the medicine too

Hi.

Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns.
Abdominal pain in upper abdomen, discomfort, stabbing sensation around belly button and near ribs can be due to the following reasons:
1) Gastritis.
2) Colitis.
3) Gallbladder and liver pathology.

Hence I would advise you the following:
Continue Pantocid.
Get stool and blood tested.
Upper GI Endoscopy.
CT scan of abdomen.
Colonoscopy if required.

Clinical evaluation and examination by a Gastroenterologist.
All this will lead to a proper diagnosis so that a proper management can be done as your case does not look to be simply dyspepsia.
