Is Penicillin The Best Way To Treat A Swollen Uvula?

Hello, so two days ago I woke up with an ache in the back of my frost and by the end of the day it was worst, my neck and head hurt and I was running a fever...i look up the causes of a swollen uvula and I don't see how or why mines would have gotten cut or infected...luckily this morning I woke up and I no longer have a fever but my throat, neck, and head still fills that same, my neighbor gave me penicillin capsule because it has already been to day and she is afraid that's this could turn into strep throat, which I also had before, and I will see my doctor on Tuesday, three days from now, I would like to know if I should take them now or wait until I see my doctor and if she will mostly also give me penicillin

Hello

I think taking penicillin is a good idea and you may have developed what is called Quinke's edema
Dont worry , this is a self limiting condition and will resolve with antibiotics
I would like you to start gargling with hexidine mouth wash 2-3 times a day and continue the penicillin.
Thanks
