Is Part Removal Of Colon Advisable For A Person With Diverticulitis?

I recently had an episode of diverticulitis. An abcess formed on the outside of my blatter where the colon crosses over it. I was in the hospital for a week until antibiotics cleared up the abcess, and a drainage tube was inserted to draw off the bloody infection. The surgeon who treated me at the hospital wants to remove a portion of my colon because he said I could suffer through this again. Is that course of action really necessary?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if this was the formation of abscess of intestine then it may happens again if the portion of that not being taken out, it is the possibility may happens and chances of this is pretty enough so it is not advisable to take the chance it is risky and better to follow the advise given by surgeon hope this information helps.
