Is Pain Medication Recommendable Along With Amitriptyline HCL 10mg?
can you take something for pain with Amitriptyline HCL 10 Mg.? My daughter has pain in neck and back went to Dr. he gave her steroid dose pack finished tonight and Amitriptyline to take at night. She has a nerve pain going down her right arm and is using ice packs as he said but seems nothing is helping to stop that nerve that is shooting into upper arm. Can she take anything else with this so she can get some rest?

As you describe it appears to be the cervical spondylosis causing nerve compression and pain of the neck, back, and arm.
I advise you to consult an orthopedic surgeon for diagnosis and treatment. You may need to have a C.T. scan for diagnosis.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms neurotropic injections for 10 consecutive days, and then periodically along with pain medication.
You can use pain medication along with the amytryptiline.
Avoid taking potato, other tubers, tomato, egg, chicken, and sea foods till the pains are completely controlled.
