Is Pain In The Leg Due To A Blood Clot?

Ok so last week I had been bitten by either a fly or mosquito, I had 3 bites one on my right lower leg and 2 right next to each other on my left leg. Within a day and 1/2 of noticing the bites it was clear they were infected. Having had a little knowledge about MRSA I went to the walk i clinic last friday had the doctor do a culture and start me on what I knew to one of the best treatment for MRSA Which is a combination of doxycycline and clindamycin. I started them both immediately! I changed dressing every day so forth. So it s early Wednesday now so 5 days since I started treatment . Oh by the way the preliminary tests show negative for MRSA and so far the bacteria is I identified. My concerns are iit doesn t seem as though there healing very fast or good, and I am at risk for blood clots due to anticoagulant lupus and factor V lidiends disease! I am currently taking Xaltreo for this. And my left leg has been causing me some pain especially when I blend my ankle etc.. should I be worried that I may have a blood clot in my leg

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome

I appreciate your concern

If there is significant swelling and pain plus a coagulopathy then a Doppler ultrasound of the lower limb should be done to rule out a clot.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
