Is Pain At The Surgery Site After Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy A Cause Of Concern?

I had laparoscopic gallbladder removal 3 months ago. I’m experiencing increasing pain at the surgery site (right side under ribs), much like before surgery. My gallbladder was removed for inflammation and low function rather than gallstones. Do I need to go see my doctor?

Hi,

Mild infection at the surgery site may cause pain. Infection inside the Abdomen near Gallbladder area will also cause pain. I prefer to get an Ultrasound Abdomen.

Please consult your doctor and proceed further. Nothing to worry.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Hari Charan Perigela, General Surgeon
