Is Ovex Liquid The Right Medication For Deworming?

I ve had worms for about 2 weeks, I ve taken two tablets and taken ovex liquid medicine (dosage of 5ml) and I had no signs of worms yesterday however, after going to toilet today I noticed more worms than ever, but they weren t wriggling, does this mean that they are dead & falling out? Thankyou

Hi,

Ovex contains mebandazole, a commonly used antihelminthic for de-worming. This kills worms (but not eggs) by depleting its glucose. Hence it is common for dead worms to be passed in stools. No need to worry. As eggs are not killed, it's recommended to repeat the dose after 2-3 weeks.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
