Is Numbness Normal After Undergoing Surgery For Tonsillectomy?

i am 3 days after my tonsillectomy and since i woke up from the surgery i have a numb spot on my bottom lip as well as a white but not filled blister inside but same spot, no pain but the numbness is annoying it has not changed since. my doctor said its normal but its been three days.

Numbness can occur due as a result of any surgical procedure due to pressure on surfaces and temporary damage to any nerves.

It should resolve on its own. If it is related to temporary nerve damage, it can sometimes take weeks for complete resolution.
