Is Numbness In The Leg Possible When Diagnosed With Haematoma?

I have a three year old leg hematoma from trauma on the outer right thigh area. Fell down a flight of stairs. It did not bother me until a few months ago, It tingles now and becomes numb. Last night I woke up with severe pain from the hematoma site to down to the knee level. It is tingling now as I am writing this to you. What can be done about this? Is it sitting on my nerves as it feels like a neuropathy.

Thank you for your query

Would you please clarify a few things for me?
1)have you had the hematoma for 3 years? Did you visit the doctor back then?
2)did you have normal sensation over the area after the injury?
3)did you have normal range of motion of your right knee after the injury?
4)currently, do you have any swelling in your right leg, below your knee? Does your right foot feel warm and is it pink under your feet?
5)how does the injured area feel to touch? Soft/hard/bony?

Trauma like yours can result in muscle and nerve injury. Muscles heal relatively quicker than nerves (which can take years). A nerve conducts sensory (muscle to brain) and motor(brain to muscle) signals to the muscle. The former is more commonly damaged and takes longer to heal.
When a nerve heals, tingling and pain can occur and it will occur intermittently with numbness. This can be discomforting.

You are spot on about the neuropathy. These symptoms may occur in spinal compression as well and needs to be excluded.
I recommend you consult your physician who could examine you and do some simple tests to diagnose the problem. He may prescribe medications to ease your discomfort, should you require them
.
Hope this helps. Please feel free to get back to us if you need any clarification.
Wish you good health
