Hi, my mom had leg ulcer due to vascular problems. She had angioplasty done last year and skin graft followed right after. Partial graft came off from the top of the ankle. So then she kept having the dressings changed but the ulcer has not healed. Recently, the surgeon said that the reason the ulcer is not healing is because she has contracure of ankle and the ulcer is related to spasm of tibialis anterior muscle which would require correction by surgery. She is 81 years old. What does the surgery involve and what will be the prognosis?
