Is Neuropathy Due To Reduced Potassium Level?

I ve been going from High poatssium (6.1) to low potassium (2.3). Currently taking 100 mg of torsemide, 100 mg spiroaldactone, and 25 mg hydrochlorathizide. I fell today as my lges buckeled and collapsed. I never know if I m too low or too high execpt through blood work. Any insight? I m not cramping but I have neuropathy that could be masking the cramping.

Hello,

Potassium is not related with neuropathy. That is related to B12, B6 level.

Why are you taking this much of diuretics? Torsemide and Hydrochlorothiazide (hctz) diuretic drugs can cause hypokalemia, and spironolactone causes potassium retention.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhadresh Lakhani
