Is my son aged 13 having hypertension if his BP is 90/56 ?

I was told that, when my son was a baby, he had a heart murmer and an extra beat at times . He had all the checks done and there is no sign of a hole in his heart. I checked his bp today (I have hypertension and bought the machine for myself) and his reading was 90/56. Should i be worried? He is of normal height + weight and leads an active life - cycling, snowboarding, skateboarding etc He is now aged 13.

I take two blood pressure medications daily. losartan-hzt 100.25 and bisoprolol fummarate 5mg. Lately my blood pressure does not seem to be very well controlled. Tonight it was 175/69. My internal medicine doctor has me monitoring my pressure for two weeks and I am to fax her the readings and she will decide if we need to change the medication or what. It is the week-end and I can not call her until Monday and their recording just says if you are concerned go to emergency. If I am not in danger I do not wish to do that because of the expense. I am female 74 years of age. Other wise in generally good health. Thank you.

I was prescribed 400mg labetalol 2x/day and 10mg hydralazine 4x/day for postpartum hypertension. I took that for 3 days then my bp got very low 106:66 next morning and dr said to cut labetalol in half that morning and skip the next hydralazine if bp less than 120:70. It was that low so I skipped hydralazine. She didn t say to do this, but over the past 6 days I ve continued to check my bp before the hydralazine dose and skip it if it was low. I also checked before the labetalol and lowered that dose if bp was reasonable. Now today I haven t taken any hydralazine and only 200mg labetalol this morning. Is that bad? Am I weaning myself too quickly?

My 14 yr. old is having extreme burping, we have been to the ER and got no results. She was previously diagnosed with a Lyles Heart murmur or musical murmur. She is 5 9 , 138 pounds, active with basketball and dance. She complains of lightheadedness, chest pain in upper left quadrant, left arm pain and she says she feels like her heart is racing at random times. She can t inhale or exhale deeply without burps, and they are constant and persistant. She has had a normal sonogram of the liver, kidneys, gall bladder. Do you have any suggestions? We are frustrated. In the ER she had low potassium and low BUN, she has also been diagnosed with chillblains on the fingers and toes, negative antigen test for Lupus and Rheumatoid arthritis.

I have had four kids. My mother has tachacardia and heart murmur and low BP. I am 31, 185, 5'6. Could never run very fast even in the military ( i was 18-24 years old). I could only run 1.5 miles 20 minutes at my best. I have heart palpatations when running, walking at steep incline, and when laying down doing absolutely nothing. I don't always get them when doing these activities but it also occurs with shortness of breathe sometimes.
