Is My Platelet Count Normal?

Hi I low platelet count 51000 & spleen is enlarged. I then took many blood test prescribed by doctor like hbsag,antihcv,immunoglobulin test etc, and various test for liver and kidney and all the results where normal and he said naturally you have low platelet count so don t worry leave it. Can I leave as it is?

The platelet count what you are having is not normal, it has reduced by 1 lakh. The normal count vary from 1.5lakh to 4 lakhs. You can consult a good general physician and get it evaluated. It can be because of any viral infection or dengue. The other possible causes can be because of idiopathic thrombocytopenia.
