Is My Insulin Slow Acting Type?

I am 55 yrs old, just started dialysis for a month on HD and planning for PD. I am a diabetics for 25 yrs and is on Insulin Levimir. 1) I find that my diabtes sugar control is not very good, anything to do with dialyis or my insulin is a slow acting type that is not suitable.? 2) My dry weight is 64 kg and evry time I do a HD my weight prior to dialysis is about o.8 kg extra (64.8 kg) , is my water intake too little. Pls advice.

Dear sir i understand your concern.the insulin what you are taking is called as basal insulin it is a very mild acting insulin.if you feel sugars are not in control kindly discuss with your doctor for the addition of small dose of human actrapid before each meal for a better control...usually in dialysis your insulin requirements will decrease....regards
