Is My NCV Test Normal?

age-28yr, gender-male, email YYYY@YYYY job- bank clerk. Hello sir, I am ananta basak, residing in westbengal. About 2 months ago I was ill from fever for 7 days. Then I fill heavily pain in my left ankle. Slowly the pain is completely vanish but I fill that there is less sense in my left leg, even I can’t rightly move the leg and can’t give enough pressure on my left leg. Thereafter I went to a neurologist and she suggest me for ncv test and taking a suggestion from a dermatologist. I went to a dermatologist and he suggest me for test of lilt skin smear for afb. The result of 2nd test is negative and the result of first test is attached below- Report- NCV study (Both Lower limbs) REPORT OF NERVE CONDUCTION STUDIES MOTOR NERVE CONDUCTION Conduction block was seen in left peroneal nerve. Study was rectified by proximal conduction. Otherwise distal latencies, CMAP amplitude & conduction velocities were normal in both tibial & right peroneal nerves. “F” waves were absent in left peroneal nerve & normal in other sampled motor nerves in both lower limbs. “H” reflex was normal bilaterally. SENSORY NERVE CONDUCTION Onset latencies, SNAP amplitude & conduction velocities were normal in superficial peroneal & sural nerves. IMPRESSION The nerve conduction study of both lower limbs is suggestive of left peroneal motor neuropathy.(Segmental demyelinating type). Is this completely cureable?

Hi, I have reviewed your report. The reports of your NCV test and your complaints combine to give a hint of demylinating neuropathy. It can be seen in many conditions like Gullian Barre syndrome, diabetes mellitus, vasculitis, metal poisoning, nutritional deficiencies and so on. However, demyelinating neuropathies are generally recoverable, since it includes loss of myelin cover of nerves which can be repaired by bodies own schwann cells. The more dangerous is axonal or neuronal disease which YOU DONT have. Meanwhile i would like to advice you to keep in constant touch with your neurologist and take proper care of dysfunct part of leg and look out for any injuries in that area due to pressure or contact since you wont feel it or wont be able to move it . slowly the disorder will recover, also if the doctor can find out etiology he can treat you specifically for some diseases.
i hope this helps.
Do let me know if you have any more questions for me.
