Is My ALT Level:48 Normal After Blood Test?
I recently had blood work done and the one on may 9th shows my ALT level at 46, the one on may 10th shows the level at 36 and the one on may 21st shows the ALT level at 48... why is this and should I be concerned? I ve been taking 4 norcos a day for four years. But other than that I m pretty healthy. Dont drink alcohol. What does this mean and how can I get it to normal range? Are these levels dangerous?

Enzyme levels can have day to day variation and usually a range of upto 36 is considered normal.
ALT levels are usually increased in hepatitis or hepatocellular injury of any cause. Some medications do increase the level of ALT and norcos is one of them.
You need not worry about your ALT unless you have symptoms like right upper abdomen pain, or jaundice.
These levels are not dangerous and with the norcos side effect, its level might be fluctuating.
