Is Muscle Fasciculation Is A Progressive Disease Having Mild Atrophy Of Left Hyposthenia Eminence?

I have muscle twitching with my left arm. I also have had muscle fasiculations with various muscles for the past 4 days. The fasiculations have improved with the exception of my left arm. I have mild atrophy of my left hypothenar eminence. Parathesias vary from my left arm, right leg, and left foot. I have a new onset of tremors for the past 5 days as well. I am concerned that this is a progressive disease. Any thoughts on differential?

Hi there,

Thanks for your query.

I presume that you must have consulted a Neurologist, who had reached to a certain diagnosis after thorough examination and relevant investigations.

However, your symptoms are suggestive of Motor Neuron Disease or its variant, which is gradually a progressive condition and, incurable.

Chronic Inflammatory Polyradiculopathy is another possibility, though your symptoms and presentation do NOT meet the diagnostic criteria for this condition. I cannot offer any further comments without examining you or seeing your test reports.

Hence, your Neurologist is the best judge.

If you find my response helpful and informative, do not forget an “excellent” (5-star rating) to my answer, to ENCOURAGE ALL doctors- engaged in social service- to render sound advice to the FREE queries.
