Is mirena IUD, best option for having polyps and large fibroids?

Hi, I am scheduled for a hysteroscopy and d&c. The doctor also wants to place a mirena IUD in at this time. Being 59 with polyps and large fibriods I am wondering about others experience with the IUD. The doctor has decided against a hysterectomy due to adhesive complications from numerous abdominal surgerys.

Mirena or other hormone-releasing IUD will be the best option for you. Nothing much to worry and your treatment is in the right track.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
