Is Methylprednisolone The Right Medication For Arthritis?

Hi, I was given methylprednisolone 4mg on yesterday, 02/11th for inflamation from arthritis in the neck and shoulder area. It s 4MG. I take benicar HCT(20)mg for high blood pressure. I also have asthma. I have had prednisone(10MG) for 7 days before. Which is better for arthritis? I was also given Hi, what is the difference in taking prednisone 10mg and methylprednisolone 4mg for arthritis? I have had prednisone in the past for my asthma but never methylprednisolone. I was given this on yesterday when it was discovered I have arthritis in the neck and shoulder area. I was also given tramadol 50mg. I am really afraid to take both of these drugs. I take benicar HCT 20 mg daily for high blood pressure. After reading about tramadol, I don t think I will be taking that.

Thanks for asking at Healthcare Magic. I read your question and I understand your concern.
Methylprednisolon are longer acting and more potent than prednisolone.4 mg of methylprednisolone is equivalent to 5mg of prednisolone. Both has same mechanism of action.
There is no need to take both of these together as tramadol can't help in relieving inflammation of joints.
Hope it helps best.
