Is Medication Possible To Delay Menstrual Bleeding?

hi I am 53 and used to take Triphaisil 28 for many many years. i stopped taking any contraception about 4 years ago as my GP said I will be going thru menopause soon. My periods have always been very heavy and am planning a 2 month holiday next year to Europe and was wondering if i could take the pill for 3 montns while I am away. They are heavy to the extent where I have to plan my life around them. I do not smoke nor have have any medical condition. I am on no medications except for an antiinflammatories for an arthritic knee.

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. You can take progesterone drug to delay menstrual period. But taking for more than 1 month is not recommended. You can use brands like Regesterone for this. This should be started at least 3 days before the expected period date and should be continued till you don't want to get the period. You are most likely to get a period within 3 days after stopping it. Better to consult your gynecologist before taking this.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
