Hi, my name is Christine. I m 52 years old and about age 42 I had an MRI of my head from getting lot s of headaches at that time. They found I had a Mass (is what they called it) on my Pituitary gland. I was told to see a Neurologist right away and show him the MRI disc. He told me: I will not touch this with a ten foot pole . And to come back and see him if my hormones go out of whack. It s hard to tell when my hormones are out of whack for me (being a woman) because, for the past 12 yrs. I been having severe hot flashes everyday and every night. This was the reason I went to see my OBGYN Dr. to begin with because of these severe hot flashed day and night constantly. I told my OBGYN Dr. about this Mass on my pituitary gland that was found 10yrs. ago. She ordered for me to have another MRI of my head. So this coming Sunday Feb. 14, 2016 I have an MRI test scheduled. Do you think that the Neurologist I seen 10 years ago was right to make the decision of telling me: he won t touch it because of the location of the mass . And I was never told to go for MRI s like once a yr. or every 3 yrs. etc. to monitor the mass. And how can a Dr. tell it s not cancerous by looking at the MRI only? How would he know it was benign by just looking at the MRI scan? Should I have played a more active role on this Pituitary gland mass in my head? I m getting concerned and I have done research on this matter. However, I m not getting the answers I m searching for. Thank You & God Bless You, Sincerely, Mrs. Christine Jackson
