I had a Davinci robot assisted hysterectomy (upstate NY)10days ago. The site where the IV was in my right forearm was very sore for a few days and I noticed a lump in my vein close to IV site. The lump is still there & now for the past 48hrs+ my arm & hand are throbbing and have pins & needles coming & going. The pain has increased & traveling upward toward my shoulder & my thumb is throbbing like crazy!!! Please help

Hello mem,
Good morning,
I read your histroy thoroughout...
It is not normal in your forearm neat iv line...
I think during your hospitalisation n when iv line is in vein at that time there might be incidance that leads to piercing your vein throughout...
Mostly you noticed after 10 days means after discharged so I think during removing process occassion might be occur...so at that sight some small blood clot are there n that causes itching n other abnormal sensetion like pain or etc....
For that you can put ice cube there n slightly rub it...it may be helpful to you...if still you don't get relief than in market there is a cream (oientment) is avilable for that...but still one examination is necessary for confirming the diagnosis...so please consult your gynecologist once in follow up...these problem is common in practice n easily cured....
I find this answer helpful
