Is Low Bp Causing Fainting?

Hi I am on the second round of HCG. Last night I arose in the middle of the night to go to the washroom. however that didn t happen I ended up fainting?? I normally have very low blood pressure. Is this something I should worry about. This morning I just feel tired, and weak. I think the cause yesterday was due to doing to much..putting me into a calorie deficet? Should I see the Dr?

Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Your symptoms seem to be related to low blood pressure.

Other possible situations (like chronic anemia, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance) may trigger this symptomatology.

Coming to this point, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam and some tests:

- a resting ECG
- complete blood count for anemia
- blood electrolytes
- liver and kidney function tests
- fasting glucose.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.

Meanwhile, I would recommend increasing salt intake and take plenty of fluids to stay well hydrated. A close monitoring of blood pressure values during the day is needed.

Hope to have been helpful!

Wishing all the best,

Dr. Iliri
