Is Loss Of Hearing A Side Effect Of Flu Shots?

I had a flu shot in Jan. 2011 and had sudden hearing loss two days later. Now, three years later, my hearing has decreased another 20% and the tinnitus is worse. I don t know if it is from the flu shot, or if I have Meineres. I have had slight side to side vertigo. I have done everything. Help!

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic

For your kind information viral infection such as flu, mumps, measles etc is the most common cause of the sudden hearing loss.

But to rule out other disease you may go for the
1. Otoscopic examination of the ear with tunning fork test.
2. Pure tone audiometry and impedance audiometry.
3. CT scan head and temporal region or MRI if needed.

Thanks
