Is Light Bleeding After Intercourse A Symptom Of Pregnancy?
my friend had intercourse last night and the guy ejaculated inside her vagina. she is really worried she is pregnant and has always had an irregular menstrual cycle. then today she started bleeding but its really light. is this an indication that shes not pregnant?
Hi, Thanks for the query. Bleeding after intercourse could be due to causes like : - Post coital tear -Local causes like cervical erosion, polyps etc. - Indicating onset of periods, ovulation etc. Presence of bleeding after intercourse will not confirm or exclude the pregnancy. If your friend is having doubt regarding pregnancy, better to take emergency contraceptive pill within 72 hours of intercourse. Repeated usage of emergency contraceptive pills can lead to menstrual irregularity. So, in future better to use some regular method of contraception. Take care.
