Is Knots On Sternum Related To Extra Cartilage?

I have a knot at the end of my sternum that I just noticed. Had X-rays that show a major hook like projection (looks like a J ) on the lateral view. Could this just be extra cartilage or should it be a cause for more concern? The top of my sternum doesn t look completely clear like normal either. Looks as though there s fatty matter on top of it.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thanks for seeking help on your issue; I have gone through your symptoms, and in my opinion, this could be normal cartilage growth, if it is concerning you, excision can be done, but let the cardiothorcic surgery fellow do this upon you, any other surgeon is not the worth compared to the risk involved.
I hope I have been able to provide you with a satisfactory solution, if you want to clear any doubts about my opinion, feel free to contact.
Special note- Any medication prescribed needs to be taken after consultation with your personal doctor only.
Thanks
Dr. Narender Saini
