hi
thanks for posting in HCM
I have understand your concern

by the history given by you I'm suspecting that you are suffering from nephritic syndrome.

initial stages ultrasound may be normal

your doctor may be prescribed steroid

I can suggest you to get done
1.urine protein creatinine ratio
2.serum creatinine
3.Renal biopsy to confirm the diagnosis
because those syndromes can be treated successfully.

so it is better to undergo for biopsy.

hope this helps you

any further questions please let me know
thanks
