Is Itchy Skin Rash A Side Effect Of Pneumonia Vaccine?

I received a pneumonia vaccine 7 days ago. It was the first of 2, given a year apart. I have been taking Benadryl to relieve the itching. Should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
This could be an allergic reaction to the shot and, if so, it should resolve in the next couple of days.

That said, you still should see your doctor about this, since you may need a cortisone injection for it.
