Is Itchy, Burning Vagina During Urination While Having Yeast Infection And UTI Normal?

Yesterday I went to my obgyn because of some pain I ve been experiencing. It seem to be that I have a yeast infection AND an UTI. This is very new to me & I am a bit paranoid because I am sexually active too. I have cottage cheese yeast and yes my vagina is it itchy, irritated and hurting; then I have to urine a lot most of time nothing comes out but when it does it burns so bad! Before I went to doctor I went to cvs to pick up something that can treat a yeast infection so I used it and made it feel worse; then the next day from inserting it, it did relieve it BUT not really it was still uncomfortable. My urine problem kinda cleared by the time I got to doctor. The burning was still there.. So my doctor agreed that it s a UTI & yeast infection. When she looked down there she asked me if I just put that stuff in (from cvs) I said no that was couple days ago wouldn t come out but another thing, I guess that stuff was still coming out or it was my discharge that turned another color? But it was still cottage cheesy but the color was like yellow/green ?? But anyway my doctor gave me meds; for the yeast infection and it s one pill and it usually clear up in a day but something s two to three. I haven t seen any discharge in my panties but when I wipe on the tissue it s a bit yellow idk if that was the pee or from my vagina. And when I peed like 10 min ago it burned so so so so much I wanted to cry. Why is this ? My vagina hurts like crazy & it almost feel dry but I know it s not, it itch/ hurt. I will say my yeast infection symptoms had gone down BUT when pee it burns my clit and other parts within my vagina area. It hurts to wipe too. Why is this so?

hello there.
thanks for your query.
Candida(fungal) infection is very common in women. This fungus is normally present in vagina but when ph of vagina changes or it gets moisture ,it proliferates and leads to symptoms like severe itching and burning in vaginal area.Due to intense itching area around vagina get injured which results in burning sensation on urination.
To prevent further infection one should maintain vaginal hygiene.change undergarments regularly, wash vaginal area regularly with vaginal wash as they keep ph optimal.
For UTI you should keep yourself well hydrated.decreased water intake can result in bacterial infection in urethra (as there is less urine output and bacterias doesn't get flushed away). Also if symptom persist for long you will need to take antibiotics.
I hope this information will be helpful.
thank you..
