Is Itchy Body With Bruises And Pimples On Back Post A Massage A Cause For Concern?

Yesterday i went to a massage parlour. It was a clean massage parlour which means no hanky panky. The masseur was having flu. After i did my massage I had sores around my body. Certain places had bruises and my body is a little itchy. There were not even a slight sexual activity. Her hands were a little rough. And i have a lot of pimples on my back which means some could have exploded and cause bleeding as well. The massage was a little rough. It was an oil massage and her hands were a little rough too. Im worried now. Do I have like the slightest chance to be infected? Im worried because i had bruises after the massage at a few places. Maybe if her hand had wounds or the oil is contaminated with hiv blood?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hi from the description you have given most propably you might be having a allergic reaction to the oil the lady used.
hiv is not spread by someone having a wound it is mainly spread through sexual intercourse.other routes the percentage is 0.01%
it is possible that because of the massage being rough there are chances of having a bruises.
i would suggest take an antihistamine and get calamine lotion or any antipruritic cream and apply to affected areas, cold packs can help for the bruises. if no improvement get yourself reviewed by a doctor.
hope to have answered your query and eased your tension
thanks and kind regards,
dr zainab.
