Is It Unusual To Obtain An Erection Without Inflating Penile Implant?

I am 65 years old and I had a penile implant in April 2013. I have sex with my wife approximately every other day and have noticed that I can achieve a semi-erection even though I have a penile implant. Is it unusual to obtain an erection without inflating the penile implant?
