But i mean in general- is it normal or unusual for a 19 year old to have a heart murmur?? Thanks to all that answer! Im really worried.

A heart murmur is an indication of something that's going on with the heart valve or related valves, aortic. Most babies born have heart murmurs due to undeveloped heart valves. During your lifetime things happen, you gain or lose weight, this could be it, disease, infections, etc, many things. Best to see your cardiologist, not your doctor, get a complete physical and be safe.

My husband's heart is beating loudly and seems to be beating irregularly. I took his blood pressure and it was normal. His heart rate was 102bpm. He also has an urge to cough periodically. He's had these episodes happen before and the cough has helped at times. Do we need to be concerned? His father died from heart disease and started having an irregular heart beat when he was 35.
