Is It True That When Taking Divalproex Sodium, One Cannot Eat Grapefruit Or Drink Grapefruit Juice?
I take 250mg of divalproex sodium twice a day to treat bipolar. I love grapefruit, and grapefruit juice. I heard that when taking this medication you can t have any grapefruit products. Is this true and why is that? I also take celexa 20mg twice a day, and risperidone 0.5mg twice a day. I also take iron, and vitamin d.
It is true that grape juice should not be taken along with Divalproex. It causes pahrmacokinetic changes altering the blood levels of the drug. Please avoid grape fruit
I hope I was of help
Regards
