Is It True That Tums Causes Constipation And Acid Reflux?

Out of no where yesterday night I started to have orange stools and it’s carried over to today. I have been sorta constipated for the past week with heart burn so I’ve taken a few tums over the past few days which I was told can cause it. Is that true?

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Yes, it is true that tums may change the color of the stool.
Foods can do that too.

Orange color of the stool, means nothing to worry about so unless you have any type of discomfort, then you should investigate it further.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Papaqako
