Is It Safe To Wear Contact Lens With A Black Eye?

I'm a soft contact lens wearer and had a major bump on the head yesterday resulting in 4 hours at A & E! This morning I've woken up with a (left) 'black eye' and using ice-pack every hour for 10 minutes and taking pain-killers as suggested by the doctor, but I'd like to know if I can at least wear one lens in the right eye. I guess it wouldn't be a good idea to put one in the left eye
